This April I joined them for a month in the amazing Florianopolis, Brazil. A month of working while traveling, of living like a local while discovering new places on the globe, a month of adventures, beaches, sunsets, amazing people, Caipirinhas, creativity, discovery, and rediscovery.

It doesn’t matter if you’re 25 or 45 – it’s how old you think you are.
There is no time limit on life, on when to travel, going back to school, starting a new business or career, settling down or reinventing yourself. You can start at any time. you just need to decide.
It doesn’t matter who you once were, or where you came from… You can always start fresh.
There is no “right” way to live, to earn money, to travel the world. There is no “right” way to have a family or to be in a relationship. If you’re happy with what you chose for yourself- this is the right way for you.
It doesn’t matter where you’re from in the world. Boy troubles are still boy troubles in Brazil, Antarctica or Africa. Family matter, self-esteem, tough bosses, parents, career decisions – We all deal with the same issues.
That’s why…
“Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen… Because true belonging only happens when we present our authentic, imperfect selves to the world…” Brené Brown says in her book. By the way, if you still haven’t seen this amazing TEDx talk by Brené Brown on the power of vulnerability. You defiantly should!
Or at least try to… You don’t always have to choose – you can travel the world and still have a job, you can be a free spirit and still have a significant other, you can spend time alone or be submerged into group activities all day long, you can work full time but still have time to leisure. It’s all choices we make.
If you want to eat your cake and have it to you need to learn how to balance. You may have anything you want but maybe not all at once, or not the way you thought you would. And that’s ok.
As Henry Ford said: “Whether you think you can or whether you think you can’t, you’re right.” Somethings we just have to get over our fears, our limiting believes, our self-awareness and just go after the things we want. who knows… we might actually get them.
Being a part of a group of like-minded individuals is the best! Sharing worries, dilemmas, stories and most of all experiences with others makes you feel like you are a part of something bigger. Being understood, supported and encouraged while traveling alone is the next best thing to a feeling of home.
Traveling opens your eyes and your heart. It teaches you things about the world and mostly about yourself. Traveling enriches your world with new sights, smells, sounds. The memories and mental pictures you make and cherish while you travel stay in your heart when you go home – they never go out of style or lose their value, therefore, are the best purchases you can make.
My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style | Maya Angelou
Living your best life should be your no.1 priority. Every single day. You need to find the happiness that works for you, even if it means to give up something in order to gain something else. No matter what life you choose for yourself. Live it well.
